1) Circulation of a new denomination of Five Thousand Kyats currency note |
|
The Central Bank of Myanmar has put a new denomination of Five Thousand Kyats currency
note in circulation with effect from October 1, 2009.

2) Myanmar's Rice Millers Delegation to India |
|
A 15-member delegation led by General
Secretary U Thaung Win of Myanmar Rice Millers' Association left Yangon on September
17, 2009 to study rice reprocessing technology and to buy machines from India. |

3) Indian Businessmen visited Myanmar |
|
A delegation
comprising of Deputy Managers Mr. Subhajit Mukerji and Mr. Manan Arora from Whirlpool
Company Limited visited Myanmar and had a meeting with CEC members of Union of Myanmar
Federation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry. During their meeting, they cordially
discussed opportunities to import various electrical goods produced by Whirlpool,
to Myanmar market and bilateral corporation on business interest. |

4) Chinese delegation visited Myanmar |
|
Minister for Electric Power
(1) Col Zaw Min received a number of delegation from China; Mr. Shi Hongxing of
State Development & Investment Cooperation (SDIC) on September 8 and General
Manager Mr. Li Guanghua of CPI Yunnan International Power Investment Company and
party on September 9 and Vice President Mr. Huang Lancang River Hydropower Co.,
Ltd and party on September 15 at Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw respectively. Delegation
of SDIC also called on Minister for Transport Maj-Gen Thein Swe on September 8,
2009 to discuss matters on cooperation in Economic and Transport sectors between
the two countries. |

5) Mr. Wang Xu of Sichuan Donlin
Corporation of PRC and party called on Maj. Gen Htay Oo at Nay Pyi Taw on September
10. Similarly, Minister received Director Mr. Lu Kaiping of Foreign Affairs Department

7) MEPE signed agreement with Shweli (1) Hydropower Co Ltd. |
|
A ceremony to sign the agreement on power purchase between Myanmar Electric
Power Enterprise and Shweli (1) Hydropower Co., Ltd. was held at the office of the
Ministry of Electric Power No. (2), Nay Pyi Taw on September 24, 2009.

8) Myanmar Industrialist visited China |
|
Under the arrangement of Dagon Seikkan Industrial Town Management Committee, U Aye Lwin, Chairman of Dagon Seikkan Industrial Zone Committee and Vice-Chairman U Thein Chi left China on September 5, 2009 to display the furniture manufactured by Myanmar entrepreneurs at the China Furniture Expo, Shanghai 2009 in Shanghai. |

9) Myanmar Thai entrepreneurs' meeting in Yangon & Mandalay |
|
Under the arrangement of Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce &
Industry and Commercial office of the Thai Embassy in Myanmar, 30-member delegation
from 16 Thai companies held meeting to discuss on promoting investment and bilateral
trade with Myanmar businessmen at Mandalay Hill Resort on September 9, and UMFCCI
Office Tower on September 10.

10) Public Works signed a contract of buying Bored Pile Equipment from Foundation
Associates Engineering Pte. Ltd. |
|
The signing ceremony between Public Works and Foundation Associates Engineering
Pte Ltd from Singapre was held at Nay Pyi Taw on September 22, 2009. Managing Director
of Public Works U Khin Maung Hse and Managing Director Mr. Jimmy Teoh Guan Hooi
signed and exchanged the contract of buying one set of Casagrande C 600 NG Bentonite
Bored Pile Equipment. |

11) Myanmar Rice Dealers' Association visit Cambodia |
|
A 13-member Myanmar delegation led by U Aung Than Oo Chairman of Myanmar Rice Dealers Association visited Cambodia to attend a meeting cooperation in agricultural sector from September 1-4, 2009. |
