Requirement for New Passport for Children :
All minor children, that is those who are less
than 15 years of age, are required to have
separate passports w.e.f. April 1997. Children’s
names are no longer included in the parents’
passports. A minor child is issued with a
passport of maximum validity of 5 years or till
15 years of age, whichever is less. |

Requirement for issue of a Duplicate Passport in
lieu of Lost/Damaged Passports |

(1) |
Three copies of the EAP-I to be filled. The
applicant should put his signatures on all the
three copies of the forms. Also please paste one
photo and sign across it on all the three copies
of the forms. |

(2) |
Two sets of photocopies of the passport which
was lost/damaged. |
|
(3) |
Copy of the police report regarding loss/damage
to the passport along with its notarised English
translation. Public Notary should be on of those
registered with the Indian Embassy, Yangon. |

(4) |
Photocopy of the Driving license/identity Card
or any other document with a photograph as a
proof of identity. Original will be seen and
returned. |
|
(5) |
An application from the applicant intimating
about the loss/damage to his passport and
explaining the circumstances leading to the
loss/damage and a request to issue a duplicate
passport. Following format is suggested:
“Sir, This is to inform you that I,…….., S/o D/o
W/o …….and holding Indian passport
no…………….issued at……………..on………., have genuinely
lost/damaged my above-mentioned passport. The
passport was lost/damaged on…………in following
circumstances………… . Kindly issue me a duplicate
passport in lieu of the same. |

In case of damaged passports, the formality at
Sl. No. (v) above is required only where the
passport was substatntially damaged or it was
damaged in a fire/mishap and ARE NOT REQUIRED in
cases of minor damage. |

Duplicate passports are issued only after
receipt of confirmation from the Original
Passport Issuing Authority in India/Abroad. |

PIO Passport |
|
(1) |
Eligibility :
Person of Indian Origin residing in Myanmar and
holding Foreigners Registration Certificate
issued by the Government of the Myanmar can
apply for PIO Passport. |
|
(2) |
Validity :Granted
for a period of six months at a time and are
endorsed for Myanmar only. |
|
(3) |
Fee :
US dollars 40/- for an ordinary 36 page
booklet. |
|
(4) |
Requirement :
(a) EAP form + 3 recent studio passport size
photographs (colour or black & white, frontal
view, Polaroid and more than six months old
photographs are not acceptable); (b) Original
FRC along with copy of FRC, the original FRC
would be returned after verification; (c) Sworn
affidavit by the applicant that he is a person
of Indian Origin and that he has not applied or
not granted any other nationality. |

Change of Address |

(1) |
EAP II form with one recent photograph. Service
is rendered after reference is made to the
original Passport issuing Authority in India and
after receipt of confirmation. |

Police Clearance Certificate |
|
(1) |
EAP II form with recent photograph. PCCs for the
period of stay in India are issued only after
confirmation from the concerned Passport Issuing
Authorities or after a waiting period of 45
days. |

Emigration Clearance Not Required |
|
(1) |
Emigration Check Not Required application with
original passport. |
|
(2) |
Individual should be staying abroad for more
than 3 years excluding short stays to India. |
|
(3) |
Persons holding Graduation or higher degrees
(degrees should be attested by the Ministry of
Human Resources Development, New Delhi and
Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi). |

(4) |
On the basis of ECNR status of the spouse
(original passport of spouse to be submitted
alongwith application). Names of each other
should be endorsed in the passports before
applying for ECNR status or should be done
simultaneously. |

(5) |
All the persons above the age of 60 years. |
|
Registration of Indian nationals :
All Indian nationals resident/newly arrived to
Myanmar are advised to register themselves with
the Embassy of India, Yangon which will
facilitate better interaction with the Embassy
and would also prove useful rendering faster
consular services.
