EMBASSY LIBRARY

         The Embassy of India has a public library consisting of a collection of about 8158 books and 175 video cassettes in English and Indian languages (Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Urdu etc.) on arts, business, children’s literature, culture, history, religion, (Buddhism, Christian, Hinduism, Islam etc.) sociology, world affairs, and fiction mostly emphasizing on India. It also receives a number of newspapers and periodicals.

         The library also has a good collection of books on Buddhism, Myanmar, and Myanmar-India relations. It enriches with the materials of most recent information and events on India from all aspects such as politics, economics, education, socialization etc. Hence it is the most reliable source for those who are in need of information or knowledge about India.

         Gradually the readers and library member are increasing since the library starts open from March 2000, now there are more than a thousand users per month and more than a hundred library members visiting the library.

         The library is open from Monday to Friday
        (10 a.m.–1 p.m. & 2 p.m.–5 p.m.)
